in Honolulu and has designed make-up for actors including John Cusack, Diane Lane, Ashley Judd, Neve Campbell, Michael T. Weiss, Jane Leeves and Kyle Chandler.
Throughout her make-up career, Jamie has continued to seek additional outlets for her creative energies. For many years she designed table-serving pieces using agates, gemstones and fine metal wire under the company name, Past and Presents. Within two years her customer base grew to more than twenty stores nationwide including the Henri Bendel department stores. She exhibited her line at the San Francisco Gift Show and numerous art fairs. In addition, some of her table-serving pieces were used as props in the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding and gifts to Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and his wife Maggie.
After six years, she once again reinvented herself creatively by donating her entire manufacturing stock and findings to Gallery 37, an inner city arts program in Chicago. A few years ago, she was introduced to Precious Metal Clay (PMC), an organic clay-like binder with fine silver particles. PMC is sculpted, textured and after drying is fired in a specially calibrated kiln. The binder burns away and the fine silver fuses into the original design. Jamie became certified by the Precious Metal Clay Guild and began designing jewelry under the company name Rouge2. She embellishes her stunning handcrafted silver pieces with fresh water pearls, Austrian crystals and semi precious gemstones. The finished masterworks are unique necklaces, earrings and bracelets reminiscent of ancient adornments.
Less than a year into production, Jamie's jewelry line was available in dozens of stores throughout the Midwest. She was subsequently juried into the Illinois Artisans Program and successfully exhibited her line in numerous local and regional art fairs. Several of her designs are featured in the spring issue of Eclectic Junction Catalog. Her jewelry line has also been shown at the Beckman’s Handcrafted Show, Chicago Gift Show and at the StyleMax Show at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. Jamie has also sold her jewelry to actors Neve Campell and Michael T. Weiss and is introducing the line to costume designers for TV series and feature films.
Jamie relocated to Los Angeles in the summer of 2003 where she continues to work as a make-up artist in the entertainment industry, design and manufacture her jewelry line and teach private classes on the basics of Precious Metal Clay, wire wrapping and knotting. In January of 2004, she was a guest jewelry designer on DYI Jewelry, a television show on the DYI Network demonstrating her signature filigree tassel charm using Precious Metal Clay syringe. Jamie launched her website Rouge2Jewelry.com in the Spring of 2005.
